Hello & Welcome
Welcome to Troop 936
Welcome! Troop 936 is a new hiking- and outdoor-oriented Family Scout Troop in Snohomish, Washington, welcoming both boys and girls. We are proud to be one of the first Family Troops in the Snohomish area.
Our mission is to build confident leaders through adventure, practical skills, and service.
Our program is built around three connected principles: Leadership gives Scouts real responsibility. Adventure provides challenge, fun, and opportunities to build practical outdoor skills. Service gives those skills purpose by putting them to work for others and the community.
As a brand-new troop, Scouts joining now have a unique opportunity to help shape our culture, traditions, and future.

Troop 936 builds confident leaders through adventure, practical skills, and service. We challenge Scouts to learn by doing, grow through meaningful experiences, and put their skills into practice to make a difference in their community.

Adventure
Outings are fun, challenging, and adventurous. Hiking, backpacking, camping, navigation, first aid, and high adventure turn the outdoors into a practical classroom for confidence, judgment, and self-reliance.
Service
Leadership and skill should benefit others. We serve through community projects, conservation, and stewardship — leaving our campsites, trails, troop, and community better than we found them.

The trail is both literal and symbolic. We are a hiking-oriented troop — and every Scout is learning to choose a direction, navigate challenges, help others along the way, and keep moving toward the next summit.

What this looks like in practice
- Outings designed to be fun, challenging, and adventurous — adventure is the heart of our program.
- Scouts hold genuine leadership roles suited to their experience, with coaching as they grow.
- Skills are practiced in realistic situations — on trails, at camp, and during service.
- We value competence and understanding over simply completing requirements.
- Older Scouts teach, mentor, and help develop the Scouts coming up behind them.
- Service is part of troop culture — and Scouts are encouraged to set ambitious goals and chart their own path.

Our measure of success is not how many badges a Scout earns or how quickly a Scout advances — it is whether each Scout becomes more capable of leading others, more confident through adventure, and more committed to serving the people and places around them.
